The Sleeping Beauty Ballet performance in Cyprus in January

Miracles do not happen only on the New Year’s Eve…

From the 30th of January until the 1st of February 2015 young spectators and their parents will have an unusual meeting with the masterpiece of the world ballet – "Sleeping beauty".

Music by Tchaikovsky. Libretto by Marius Petipa (abridged children's version of the ballet performed at the Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow).

We would like to invite you to the Palace, where the King and Queen are celebrating the birthday of their daughter, Princess Aurora! Everything is ready for the beginning of the ceremony. Fairies are bringing their gifts to the cradle of the baby when suddenly a loud noise is heard. The wicked witch Carabosse, who was not invited, has arrived to the feast. Enraged, she predicts Princess Aurora’s death by the pricking of a spindle-point. But the Princess will not die. She will only sleep until a loving kiss of a young Prince will wake her up! Hush… The Kingdom is immersed in one hundred years of sleep under the charming and gentle music of one of the greatest composers of mankind - Tchaikovsky…

The ballet is performed by professional dancers (soloists of leading Moscow theatres). Corps de ballet is the students of the Children's School of Arts named after Mikhail Balakirev (Moscow).
