Skylight - ΝΤ Live for 1 night in November at Theatro Rialto in Limassol

Bill Nighy and Carey Mulligan feature in the highly anticipated West End production of David Hare’s Skylight, directed by Stephen Daldry, captured live in London’s West End by National Theatre Live.

On a bitterly cold London evening, schoolteacher Kyra Hollis (Carey Mulligan) receives an unexpected visit from her former lover, Tom Sergeant (Bill Nighy), a successful and charismatic restaurateur whose wife has recently died. As the evening progresses, the two attempt to rekindle their once passionate relationship only to find themselves locked in a dangerous battle of opposing ideologies and mutual desires.

Bill Nighy, whose extensive film credits include Love Actually, Notes on a Scandal and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and whose stage roles include Pravda and the world premiere of David Hare’s The Vertical Hour on Broadway, plays alongside Carey Mulligan (Inside Llewyn Davis, The Great Gatsby, An Education) who is making her West End stage debut, and Matthew Beard (An Education, One Day, The Look of Love).

Skylight is directed by Academy Award®-nominated director Stephen Daldry, who recently directed the sell-out West End production of The Audience with Helen Mirren, which was also broadcast to cinemas by National Theatre Live.

David Hare is the author of 29 plays for stage, including Plenty, Racing Demon, Amy’s View, Pravda (with Howard Brenton) and Stuff Happens. His many screenplays include The Hours and The Reader.

Skylight was originally produced at the National Theatre in 1995, before transferring to the West End and Broadway, and won an Olivier Award for Best Play.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - The Royal Ballet at Theatro Rialto in Limassol in December!!!

A masterpiece performance by the Royal Ballet that will get the whole family in the Christmas spirit. An outstanding choreography with fascinating music.

The Story
At a garden party on a sunny afternoon, Alice is surprised to see her parents' friend Lewis Carroll transform into a white rabbit. When she follows him down a rabbit hole things get curiouser and curiouser.

On her journeys through Wonderland Alice encounters countless strange creatures. She's swept off her feet by the charming Knave of Hearts, on the run for stealing the tarts. Confusion piles upon confusion until Alice wakes with a start. Was it all a daydream?

Background
Christopher Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland arrived on the stage in 2011 with a burst of colour, theatrical magic and inventive choreography. It was The Royal Ballet’s first new full-length work since 1995 and was greeted with delight by audiences. Joby Talbot’s score combines contemporary soundworlds with sweeping melodies that gesture to ballet scores of the 19th century. Bob Crowley’s wildly imaginative sets and costumes draw on puppetry, projections and masks to make Wonderland wonderfully real. Alice encounters a cast of extraordinary characters, from the highly-strung Queen of Hearts, who performs a hilarious send-up of The Sleeping Beauty's famous Rose Adage, to dancing playing cards, a sinuous caterpillar and a tap-dancing Mad Hatter. Alice and the Knave of Hearts dance a tender, loving pas de deux of delicate beauty. But the ballet does not avoid the darker undercurrents of Lewis Carroll’s story – a nightmarish kitchen, an eerily disembodied Cheshire Cat and the unhinged tea party are all created in vivid detail.
